Change a little of your Sterling for Lira before you leave England and change the rest of your Sterling into Lira when you are in Antalya. Use a Bank and Official Exchange Office or the PTT (Post Office). You can use a card to pay in Restaurants and Shops, check your card provider does not charge to use their card abroad.
Answer 21 of 21: We're due to visit Lara Beach in a few weeks and not sure whether to take Lira or Euros? We're all inclusive so it's only for trips etc. I've been told the Turkish prefer you to give them Euros but hear you get more for your money
Answer 31 of 42: Which currency does everyone take? We were wanting to do a bit of shopping but the exchange rate will play a big part. Thanks
For example there is an Antalyakart app so you can use it on your phone for bus journeys etc. Plenty of posts on this forum about it and indeed visiting Antalya. Shame you only "found" these forums after the event! Oh and Antalya does have winter and the city wasn't planned by American engineers it rather grew from ancient times. Edited: 2
The euro is the local currency in Greece and 20 other European countries. It was introduced in January 2002, replacing the Greek drachma. Greece is a eurozone (EZ) member, meaning it uses the euro as its sole currency. Tourists visiting Greece should be aware that prices are typically quoted in euros.
