The greatest difference between the two languages lies in declension and conjugation. The vocative is commonly used in Czech while it is almost extinct in Slovak. The first person of the Czech singular can end in -i, -u or -m, whereas in Slovak only in -m. The ending for the past tense in plural differs in Czech based on the noun’s genderTo the West Slavic branch belong Polish and other Lekhitic languages (Kashubian and its archaic variant Slovincian), Upper and Lower Sorbian (also called Lusatian or Wendish), Czech, and Slovak. In the early 21st century more than 40 million people spoke Polish not only in Poland and other parts of eastern Europe (notably in what are now Czech republic i the least religious from those three obviously, but i think it is also the most backwards from those tree countries (if we dont talk prague or brno). Smaller cities in poland or slovakia are more progressive in many ways (if we dont talk religion), many smaller cities in czech republic are sort of stuck in 90s.
This responsibility, in turn, devolved to Slovakia and the Czech Republic on January 1, 1993. The apportionment of formerly federal military property between the two new republics was a major hurdle in the partition process, as was the creation of separate armed forces. Slovakia’s armed forces comprise an army and an air force.
